Downsizing A Catalyst for Retraining in many client industries
Anytime a company downsizes, the impact of employee layoffs impacts the entire firm. From morale to productivity, the remaining employees struggle to rebuild within a reorganized structure. "There is pain indeed, but a call to action for teams to rally behind the evolving corporate initiatives," commented DTS CEO Christine Mansfield. "Companies are missing a critical opportunity to regain employee confidence and engage the company positively with training. They send a better message with job re-training and change management".
The DTS training model combines software training with organizational development consulting to gently reinforce software skills and morale with a positive training atmosphere. "Our instructors utilize psychology and crisis management training as much as technology skill building for clients. As a neutral third party, our instructors constructively embrace the corporation's new direction with the employees and identify positive training and job skill benefits to the new positions. This builds a trust dynamic and fosters an accelerated acceptance of the new changes," Mansfield added. "Tears dry and the real work begins to regain efficiency in a new job set or changed role-- and we help in all of this."
Many healthcare networks particularly experienced personnel changes, office closings and merged facilities this year, reported Mansfield. "We were fortunate to be onsite and mentor the leading three networks' employees through change." From Google conversions to corporate lay-offs, to mergers and acquisitions, Discovery Training consulted many toward the year -end close by September 30th. "We are a true partnership client, and help many of our clients through change."
