Fundraising Teams Increasing Automation & Analysis Skills |
Case Study 1 ~ With the Development and Finance teams assembled, this leading Hartford area hospital zeroed in on the best practice for next level skill training. DTS consultant Christine Mansfield facilitated a three hour interactive review of the year and campaign trends on the projector, while skillfully building new queries, custom reports and analysis trends to review. The LCD screen displayed thousands of donor records, while the teams learned how to export the data to Excel. Gaining data entry and formatting skills, they prepped the file to insert a pivot table. Using the new filter & charting tools, the team created 25 new charts and tables in less than an hour. Mansfield led the group to finding new trends, including consecutive tenure, average gift changes year over year and Together, the collective 'ahs' and 'ohs' increased when the team exported to Excel. Using Pivot, a new world of skills, understanding & confidence was born!

| Case Study #2 ~ Recently hired as Executive director, this New Haven non -profit inherited a new challenge: two state chapters merging into one. With two entirely different staffs, databases, cultures and rules, the one commonality was the lack of standardization in either camp. So they called in DTS' chief consultant, Christine Mansfield, to help define their fundraising and database strategies. The result?
- Merged database with partitions, flags and user accesses to allow separate and joint access by state chapter
- Phased plan to increase self service database skills, clean-up merged data issues and increase utilization of database. This included a data mapping analysis of tables, constituent codes, flags, and other fields to consolidate lists, streamline tracking and automate paper / Excel based lists into the Database.
- Train and support staff migration from desktop based fundraising system to cloud based, remote database hosting site. This include file management protocol creation, centralized standards for the organization, and refresher training for Internet browser, file management, Windows, history clearing, download and upload security procedures.
- Special database manager training to create scheduled maintenance, back-up, import standards and other routine tasks
