"Discovery Training Services Keynotes AFP Luncheon"

April 23, 2009 - West Hartford -

The Association of Fundraising Professionals Connecticut Chapter, hosts a "Database" luncheon and in honor of Administrative Professionals Day. AFP Connecticut counts 200+ members and is part of the International Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). They work to advance philanthropy through advocacy, research, education and certification programs. Christine Mansfield, CEO of Discovery Training Services, is proud to participate in the program hosted at the Pond House, West Hartford.

The audience is focused in development, fundraising or advancement, and interested in learning more about "mining" the information in your database and making it more relevant.

Carl Pitruzzello

University of New Haven

Carl Pitruzzello, currently director of advancement services, at the University of New Haven (UNH), has more than 15 years of experience applying technology to fundraising issues and techniques. He has supervised numerous database conversions utilizing a variety of fundraising systems. His experience encompasses a range of institutional types, including a campus of a large state system-the University of Massachusetts at Lowell-and a private college-Bentley. As a result of being in the trenches, he understands the practical implications of assessing and responding to development priorities. At UNH, Carl has been instrumental in upgrading the database and training staff, and he recently developed an online community to enhance advancement marketing. 

Christine Mansfield, CEO,
Discovery Training Services

Christine Mansfield is CEO and owner of Discovery Training Services, a Wallingford- based training company. Christine is the co-chair of the Quinnipiac Chamber of Commerce Legislative Committee, and a board member with numerous organizations including: the Wallingford Community Theatre, Wallingford School District "School to Career," Holy Trinity School, and the Quinnipiac Chamber of Commerce. In 2008, her company captured the Quinnipiac Chamber's "Small Business of the Year" award, and was a finalist for the Connecticut Technology Council's "Women of Innovation" Award. Christine is active in local business and school career planning groups, and oversees an active community outreach for Discovery Training. She holds a B.A. from Villanova and a M.B.A. from Eastern University.
